In the modern infrastructure that consists of tall modern buildings, a fire spread can be unpredictable and potentially life threatening. With the best practice standards being followed, the fire resistant construction is required to be closely regulated.
The behavior of a burning object in a developing fire will have an impact on how easy it is for people to escape from the scene. Even when reaction to fire testing is not required under the regulations, a relevant insurer or authority may request improvements of product performance, for which fire testing is required.
